fm20
GPA: 2.75 (graduated from top 20 school 9+ years ago) GRE prediction: V 600+, M 500+ (taking GRE tomorrow) Upsides: A- grades at 2 summer classes I took at Fletcher Recs should be good, will get 2 of them from the Fletcher profs who taught the summer classes Semi-intl applicant, born/brought up in South Asia, know South Asian languages Worked in corporate world (management/operations) but did volunteer work with a human rights group (6 years) and an intl university for the underprivileged (3 months) Any shot at Fletcher? greendiplomat
From what I gather, GPA matters less and less the longer you've been in the workforce, and, considering that you've proven yourself capable of doing well at Fletcher, I think you'll be fine. The quantitative score for the GRE might be more of a concern, but, since Fletcher's program's flexible enough that you can graduate without much quantitative work, I don't think this is a deal-breaker either. Just make sure your statement and recommendations are good!
riz1
I agree with the Green Diplomat. That you've taken classes at Fletcher and done well indicates your aptitude and capacity for handling a full Fletcher workload, and your human rights experience, if substantial, will look good to any school. Hopefully your marks from today's GRE re-take will be significantly higher than the first time around -- let us know how you did! Good luck! fm20
Got the official GRE scores. Verbal: 690 (96+ percentile) Math: 630 (52+ percentile) Hopefully that'll increase my chances!
