gctsan Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Hey all,I retook the GRE yesterday wanting to improve my Quant score. I ended up score higher on verbal while quant stays the same at 161Q/158V. Both times I freak out during the last quant section and had to kiss the 90th percentile goodbye. While I consistently score around 164Q or more on the practice tests, do you think I should retake the GRE again? I'm applying to Columbia Data Science and 161Q is pretty low for them. My undergrad GPA is 3.68 with 1.5 years of work exp (internship and full time with 3 companies) in finance and IT. Not sure if this will help make up for the low GRE quant score. Any advice would be much appreciated.
sjoh197 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I would only take it again if you think that something is going to change.Part of the GRE is the pressure. If you are having anxiety problems, you may be able to talk to a doctor, therapist, or even learn some self-soothing techniques, but even then you'll be $600 in the hole and might not see any change again.
