MH2 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I submitted my SOP last night for HKS MPP. I accidentally submitted a draft version and it has 2 typos in the first para (the rest is fine). I am feeling sick to my stomach. I wrote "may" instead of "many" and "on" instead of "of". I feel terrible. Please tell me what should I do. Does this mean I won't be accepted this year?
fuzzylogician Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 If you are very concerned, you could email the school, say you've noticed a couple of typos, and would they please replace the version they have with this newer version that is attached to the email? They may say no, but you have nothing to lose. (But this newer version had better not have any typos in it!) Either way, a couple of typos are not going to disqualify you, so I don't think you need to worry.
kbui Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I agree with fuzzylogician. You can email them and attach your essay in a .pdf and ask them to replace it. But I can see how you are freaking out! I would be too if it was in the first paragraph. However, a lot of times AdComms just glance at each paragraph for key words and they might just skip the typos in their haste (as one would hope). Tell us how it goes though.
