ComputerVision
Hello everyone. I am applying for PhD (Fall 2016) and my profile is: Undergrad GPA: Average MS GPA: ~ 3.9 GRE: 154(verbal) + 158(quant). Awaiting AW Conference Papers: 3 as first author, 3 as co-author Journal Papers: Co-author of 4 Experience: More than 3 years With this profile, I think I cannot get in any top schools. Can any of you suggest some EECS schools which are 'average', where I have some realistic chances of admission? Or some programs which have a relatively large intake? If you can evaluate my profile, that will be a big help as well. Thank you. Cheers.
robot_control
Fall 2016 deadlines are long gone. I think you can apply only for Fall 2017. Post the question closer to September next year to get a better response from the community.
percheme
I don't know how it works for EE but for ChemE, there are still a LOT of schools that are still accepting applications for Fall 2016. Hmmm I don't think your application profile is terrible, but with all top schools there's also a decreased chance of getting in. What area in particular are you looking to move to? Do you have EE rankings for graduate programs? A quick google search should help. I'd say if you're really aiming low try no school within the top 40 to 50. The poster about me is right in that a lot of deadlines have long passed. Merry Christmas and best luck to you on your applications.
