thewildchild Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I was accepted to a top ranking sociology program last year. I initially accepted my admission offer - however, due to family reasons, I had to withdraw my acceptance. Does anyone have any insight as to whether it would be okay to reapply to the school with the same statement I wrote last year (with modifications regarding how I spent this year, et cetera)? Or do I need to draft a new statement? Thanks!
rising_star Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Is your old statement really the best SOP you could put forward? My guess is that you've grown as a writer since then, done different things, and possibly even refined your research interests. Because of that, I'd probably write a new statement, rather than just recycling the old one. sociologyapp2016 1
gingin6789 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I agree with rising_star. I would certainly write a new SOP to show how you've grown as a writer, along with outlining your experiences since you last applied.
