Everyone's worst nightmare - I reopened my statement of purpose for a program I applied to two days ago, and I noticed a small typo (there should have been an "-ly" at the end of one word.)

Can I contact admissions and politely ask if I can resubmit my statement of purpose, or should I just cross my fingers and hope they don't notice?

Chill, this happens all the time. They'll likely notice it too and figure out your original meaning. If you contact them more you might annoy them. I had a friend get into Harvard spelling it Havard in their essay.

Haha, okay that's pretty hilarious.

Ahh, this application season is just so stressful. This was for one of the programs I really liked too.

Yeah as long as your whole essay is not full of mistakes and they're few enough to understand the original meaning, I wouldn't worry. You can see people in this forum freaking out about this issue for years and still getting into top programs.

Don't worry!  I had a typo in the second sentence...for my favorite school.  I almost died when I caught it two weeks later.

I wound up attending that school.
