bjauch Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 So, I've been accepted to Columbia for a masters in computer science (after applying PhD.) Anybody else in this situation? How about current/previous Columbia students, what are the chances of getting some funding as a masters student? What is the department like? (This is also posted in the officially grads forum, but nobody posts there.)
art_vandelay Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 What the fuck are they doing at Columbia? I've submitted my application a month before the deadline. Still haven't heard anything though.
hnb Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Indeed strange, I submitted mine somewhere in December.
sdf123 Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Email them. I also hadn't received any response on my application status. I emailed them and received the rejected response. The website is also updated. I think if you didn't receive an offer from them in Feb, chances are that you may have been rejected.
art_vandelay Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I sent an email a week ago and got a response that the applications are still under review and they will contact me as soon as they make a decision. It's still pending on the website. As if they review a single application each day!
hnb Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 That sux.. The website still says Pending, though.. I'm too afraid to email them One thing seems strange though, on both Yuster and this site not a lot of rejections and accepts have been posted (compared to other uni's). Seems a bit strange with the remark that if youve heard nothing in Feb, its going to get tough.. btw. would you think MS or PhD has better chances? i applied for MS
