Hi guys! So I did a little forum stalking as I procrastinate some homework, and I've noticed I haven't seen a single thing about Baylor University in the past year and a half or so on this forum! Has anyone else applied to the program? Does anyone know anything about their admissions process or the program itself? Thanks! :)

I'm in the undergrad program here and it's a wonderful school.  Think small classroom sizes and intimate relationships with teachers for grad program.  As far as admissions go I've heard it can go back and forth.  Some years it's a little bit more challenging to get in than others.  It all depends on how many apply at that time.  For example, I think last year there were about 200 applicants making it a little harder to get in.  The program is shorter than others, about a year and a half!
I wish I had more information for you! I'm trying to differentiate the bias, amazing reviews and actual rating/ comparison with others myself! However, just from my experience in undergrad, I can assure you it's a pretty great school.

That's so great to hear! Thanks for the response :)

For those of you who go to Baylor or know how they do their admission process, do they place importance on when you get your application in? Meaning, if you apply closer to the deadline your chances of getting are in less?

Something I have recently discovered about Baylor through the grad students is that Baylor is VERY child/ school centered.  Many of the classes that they offer are based on language and literacy and as a grad student you will become very involved in their program, Camp Success, which revolves around language and literacy with school age children. Once in the grad program you will come to a fork in the road where you get to pick adults (medical) or children (schools), however anything out of this is not really offered (however not necessarily discouraged).  A friend of mine was left a little frustrated when she realized was already in the middle of grad school and her goal to work with pediatrics in the medical field was going to be a little harder to reach.
Something to think about.  I'm currently not sure if I'll apply there anymore because of this new information.
With everything though, ask for yourself. Probe admissions for answers.
For Baylor, I do not thing rolling admissions is a thing, so the time you apply shouldn't matter. Good luck to all!
