Great! I applied UMD too, but is phd. Nice to meet you. Did you decide whether to go there?

Yeah, I accepted my offer this week. It was my top choice.

@worthylvy: May I know where do you plan to look for a place to live in CP? I also got accepted at UMD for this fall.

I'm still at a loss on this one. The graduate housing is a good option, but it's expensive. I have some fraternity friends that have a house that I'm looking to get in on, but other than that, I've got nothing.

I'm still deciding between UMD and Boston College, but I went to American University for undergrad and I've lived in DC for six years.  Anyone please feel free to message me if you need advice about housing, transportation, moving companies, etc.

I just saw this thread.  I'll be coming to UMD in the fall, for speech pathology!  I'm living in downtown Silver Spring, and will be taking the UMD shuttle from the metro.

I'll be at UMD this fall, doing a PhD in Bioengineering. Does anyone know of any roommate/housemate finding platforms? Now that I've gotten over the hurdle of getting in, I'm now faced with the problem of finding an apartment and housemates! Also, what are the best places to live for graduate students near College Park? I've heard CP is kind of crime-heavy so places like Silver Springs are better, but I'm wondering if I should be looking elsewhere as well.

Hey! I just remembered to check this. I ended up signing for a room in Terrapin Row. It's one of the closest options to the architecture school, so I'm looking forward to my five minute commute :) I know that there's a service online that you can use your UMD login to search for roommates. OCH is what you want to look for (off campus housing) on the website.
