Has anyone heard anything from the University of Montana? I know last year there was some supplemental information provided to some applicants early (like January), but I've never received any sort of correspondence (even during the application process when I emailed questions. Just wondering if anyone had heard from them!

I'm anxiously awaiting. I haven't heard anything either!

I have not had much success communicating with the CSD program at UM.  I called multiple times in January and sent an email to the department's general email address, but I received no response.  I finally reached someone by phone when the spring semester started in the first week of February.  I asked about the supplemental application mentioned on the website, and the woman said she wasn't sure about that--her best guess was that applicants are invited to fill out the additional UM application only after they have been accepted.  I also asked if I could come up to Missoula for a visit sometime, and her response was, "Uh, I am not sure.  I just started this job.  I don't know if people visit before they're accepted."  She gave me the name of a professor to contact but warned me that this professor would be traveling in February.  I emailed the professor and received nothing--not even an out-of-office auto-response.  Does not seem great, if I'm honest.

Zrzka- yikes, that does not sound like a pleasant experience! Hopefully the program itself is better run than the lack of communication suggests...

I also had trouble communicating with UMT. When I applied to take a few of their postbacc classes, they didn't respond.  About a month later, I emailed again to ask if I was accepted yet.  I was told they didn't receive my application so I forwarded the email I had already sent and was told about 2 days later that I could enroll in classes.  So... it seems like the people running the program (or maybe their assistants) aren't very good at communication.   However, after taking 2 of these postbacc classes, I have noticed that the professors are on top of it.  They are great actually!  I wish I had taken more of my postbacc classes from UMT.  They really try to give you a well-rounded education, so that you not only know the material but how to apply it.  So, I think we shouldn't judge them based on how the people who aren't educators are doing.  They really need to fix their communication problems though.

I have also applied for their graduate program and have not heard back yet.

It's good to hear that the professors are with it!  That's what matters in the end. :)

Jazspeaks- Thanks so much for the info, that is incredible helpful! I was just accepted to U of South Carolina, but was hoping to attend the U of M because of the ICAAP and the ENORMOUS cost difference. I was beginning to get quite nervous about the quality of the program due to the correspondence issues, so thank you so much for sharing your experience!

Hey for anyone interested, I just spoke to someone at U of M. She said decisions should go out the week of March 28th (but she wasn't certain), and that no deposit is required to hold a spot for those who are admitted (I was curious since U of South Carolina require $1,000 to hold a spot).

I also spoke to someone at Western Kentucky, and they said decisions will be out prior to April 15th and they too do NOT require a deposit.

I got an email with an acceptance to the distance program today.  I will be declining my spot tonight, so hopefully it goes to someone else soon!

Waitlisted for the University of Montana distance program yesterday.  I have already decided to go to an on-campus program, so I'll be asking them to remove me from the waitlist to give other folks a chance.  Congrats to those accepted!

It looks like they sent out acceptances on Friday and Monday, waitlists on Tues, and rejections Wednesday.
