Arcanelady27 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) After reading my SOP, I found two minor errors. Does this knock me out the running? Missing pronoun...resulting in missing past tense of a word. Sigh... Edited March 29, 2016 by Arcanelady27
fuzzylogician Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 No, it doesn't knock you out of the running. It's a minor error that obviously doesn't mean anything. Let it go. thespeechblog.com and MangoSmoothie 2

It is torture!
Jolie717 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Nope, don't stress. I made a pretty blatant/stupid error in the title of my SOP, where the parameters were very clearly laid out by the university in question - and I got in. All fingers crossed! ? Arcanelady27 1

Thanks Jolie717, Have you made a decision? You are waiting for one more school it looks like. I actually contacted Lehman and Queens. Both schools are actually still reviewing applications. So far no rejections...

Still waiting for one school, but also funding, and housing, plus schools for my boys, plus places that accept very large dogs. We have a Great Dane, lol. Apparently I had to make every single aspect of my graduate university application process difficult if not impossible, on multiple levels, in every way imaginable. Yup. I love a challenge. I love a challenge. I admire you. You are able to pick up and go if all your ducks are in a row! LOL Where did you do your BA/BS or pre reqs ?
esheshesh Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I don't think it's that big of a deal. I've had one or two minor errors in SOPs that I've submitted and have been accepted into some of those programs. I've seen typos on departmental websites, emails, papers. It happens. They probably only care if there are many typos or you misspell the name of the school. I hope you hear good news soon! Arcanelady27 1

My undergrad BS is the regular (not online) program here at Cal State Northridge. Cowsy 1

Have you made a decision on where you will attend grad school? You have quite a bit of acceptances!
esheshesh Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 You're totally welcome! I've gone over my statements again and again and had to stop myself because I would usually find a typo and freak out over it. And I haven't made a decision yet, but I'm really leaning toward Buffalo! I'm waiting for funding offers to come in from other schools before I make a decision.
