SuzieDerkins Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I want to do my masters in computer science, with particular focus in data science and machine learning, with applications in medicine and healthcare. I have received admits to the University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins. However I'm having some trouble deciding between the two. The points I want to take into consideration include- Job prospects Research Faculty Financial Assistance of any kind, including TA/RAships Assistance of any kind would appreciated
ClassApp Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 So... You haven't really given anyone enough information to give advice??? What are your research interests? Do you fit well with the faculty? What funding have you been offered?
SuzieDerkins Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 I'm interested in Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence, with applications in healthcare and medicine. UPenn has a research centre dedicated to biomedical informatics, and one for machine learning, as does Johns Hopkins. The CS faculty of JHU is more inclined towards research in medicine and healthcare though. No funding at either as of now. I have read up on both extensively on their websites, I was hoping for advice from current students or alumni from either.
