palindrome Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I feel like this was a trivial accomplishment that is reflected in my GPA anyway. Do you need to mention this on CV?
carrar Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I did, but what do I know? Basically, I didn't have a ton of research or special "things," but I did have good grades, so I decided to point it out again in my CV. I also mentioned in my CV that I graduated summa cum laude, which (at least in my school) is just about grades as well. Need to hammer that home to make up for weaknesses.
Ziz Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I would say definitely include it. Even if you think it's trivial, it's an accomplishment nonetheless. Even if it doesn't help, it can't hurt.
spectralScatter Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) consider that everyone with lots of honors and awards won't have this on their CV. If you are trying to fit every award you have ever gotten, than this looks kinda funny at the end of the list. It would be better to list your top 4-6 honors and awards, and add 'Dean's list' to fill in if you don't many awards. Edited December 4, 2009 by chemmastr
JerryLandis Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I'm listing mine, although it's also listed at the bottom of my transcript. My department doesn't give any awards though - there is one award given at graduation to one person within the wider department, but since the department contains 3 sub-departments, there is only a 1/3 chance that someone from my actual (sub) department will get an award in any given year. My point here is that I don't have a bazillion awards overflowing all over my resume, so I am mentioning the Deans List to show that I'm not completely bereft of awards.

Same here - such is the British system. They don't shower us with honours and awards and my university didn't have any opportunities for undergrad research/publishing or being a TA/RA. I always feel very inadequate when I see some of the people on this board!
