HELP!! MA programs

my friend applied to several MA programs.. so far only got into 2 MA

1. MAPPS @ U of Chicago.. i'm not sure exactly what it is still.. supposedly it's MA but i read some pros & cons and still very confused

2. American University

still waiting to hear from UCSD, WashU  and GWU, but if these are the only 2 admitted, which one do you think is better? for career and possibly Ph D in the future?

that I know GW hasn't released any MA results positive or negative yet. As for which school it depends I think a great deal on what type of work he/she wants to do in the future. The d.c. schools have some obvious advantages in terms of future government job opportunites, however WUSTL has such a great academic program...so it's hard to say without more information.

Are you going to the MAPSS visit days in a few weeks? I'm thinking that is what is going to help me decide...
