Who's headed to Harvard this fall?  What are ya studying?  I'll be doing International Education Policy.

Anyone else trying to get HUH apartments?  I submitted my application and hoping I get a 3 bedroom with some classmates.

Yup! I'm heading there in the Fall to pursue a PhD in Systems Biology.

I'm not doing on campus housing since I'm sharing an apartment with a buddy of mine who's got a 2 year gig at MIT (plus maybe one or two other people). I think we're shooting for a place in Central. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

I'll be around! In the English department :)

I decided to settle on the GSAS dorms for the first year--not the most ideal situation, but there's no way, with work and other stuff going on, that I'd be able to make it back out to Cambridge before late August (renting sight unseen seemed potentially sketchier than communal bathrooms, so, you know). Pros, though: I'll be super close.

I'll also be coming to Harvard. I'm admitted for a bioengineering PhD, but I'll likely switch to computer science.

For housing, I was originally thinking of living with friends from undergrad (did undergrad in Boston), but ended up opting for GSAS dorms. Partly, it'll be easier since I'll be moving from overseas. And also, when I visited, all the students in my program highly recommended living in the dorms, because it's super convenient and a chance to meet people who aren't just engineers. One guy actually said he really regretted living with a friend his first year instead of in the dorms.

I'm starting my PhD in HSPH this fall and am looking at HUH too, although not with any luck. Finding housing near the Longwood area is pretty difficult and I would probably have to resort to finding one in Cambridge

I will be joining the PhD Program in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Harvard in the fall, but I am doing my first laboratory rotation this summer.

I'm surprised there aren't more Harvard people posting here!

Someone else started a thread for Harvard SEAS and I'm the only one who responded. :/ I'm also surprised there aren't more Harvard peeps hanging around here.

My program doesn't do rotations (I already have an advisor, who I'm really excited about!), and I'm currently cramming in the end of a 12-month masters program. So I will first be showing up at Harvard for the August 24 orientation, likely incredibly jet lagged.

I'm excited about meeting people from different disciplines too.  I got an apartment through HUH and I've heard that the majority of the people who live in my building will be law students.  I'll find out what that's like! :D

@Heather1011 Which building will you be in? I am in Peabody Terrace.

Garden Street.  Really excited as it's only a 5 minute walk to HGSE for me!  Peabody Terrace looks amazing though, and really close to Trader Joe's! :D
