emmasu Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Hi everyone, Yesterday I recieved a interview invitation from the Columbia Pathobiology and Molecular Medicine Program. I was invited to visit the campus in Feb.....However, I'm not in US so that I've to travel a very long way and spend a lot of money for tickets and visa... I wanna ask that, as an international student, does the interview invitation indicate I have a very good chance to be accepted? I don't want to spend such a great effort just to find out everyone applied can be interviewed.......... Many thanks to your help~~ Emma
cogneuroforfun Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Yes, an interview means you have a good shot of being accepted. If you have any desire to enroll in this program, you need to make it to the interview.
ScreamingHairyArmadillo Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Did they not offer to help pay for travel? You might try to find out if they can help, though I know programs are scrimping on money these days. Otherwise, an interview is a very good sign! Good luck!
purplepepper Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 You might want to call them and tell them your situation (where you are living) I can't imagine that they wouldn't offer you a phone interview so you wouldn't have to spend all that time and money to show up jetlagged...
