Hey y'all, I'm a Visual Studies major potentially thinking of switching tracks to Anthropology. I'm interested in cultural and visual anthropology, ethnography, and folklore, focusing on immigrant and LGBTQ+ communities in the US (that's a lot of broad stuff, sorry!). Anyways, as I'm gearing up for graduate school, I was wondering if anyone had info on graduate anthropology programs that provide funding for master's students.

Thanks so much!

Hey OrcaJoc,

There are some that I am familiar with that offer funding, and the one that I'm currently at (Georgia State) has a professor that has done visual anthropology. Others you may want to look into are Mississippi State and West Florida. Otherwise my advice is to peruse the anth dept pages that has what you want since it is a little more specialized.

Thanks! I was really interested in the visual anthropology program at USC, but they are unfortunately more practice oriented rather than theory oriented.

any progress? USC 's  master visual project seems only have one year Maybe it is too intense...

When I was looking at MS programs they didn't offer funding, maybe it is different for Antho, but the OP was looking for programs with funding and I think USC is north of 30k (+ living)
