bb385 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Congratulations you two . It seems like both of you have a star-studded list of graduate programs to pick from!
EdPolicy Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Congratulations, astronautka and focused! I also got accepted to Michigan, though I applied for the Public Policy & Sociology PhD program, which is a joint venture between the Soc department and the Ford School. It is a phenomenal fit for my interests, and I'm really overwhelmed and excited. I plan to attend the visit days, even though my work has to be pissed about the amount of time I am taking off in March.... Hope to see some of you there!

Are you planning on attending visit days both at Madison and Ann Arbor? I am trying to figure out how to manage because they are back to back, but with a weekend in the middle. (And a plane ticket from Madison to Detroit seems to be unreasonably expensive!)
focused Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I plan to attend the visit days, even though my work has to be pissed about the amount of time I am taking off in March.... Likewise! I'm breaking the news to my boss this Friday - should be interesting.
EdPolicy Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Are you planning on attending visit days both at Madison and Ann Arbor? Yes, I'm going to both via Chicago, which was a bit cheaper. If you haven't booked your tickets yet, that's an option to explore!
carolina45 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I noticed someone just posted some info on the results page about Michigan saying they had received an email saying that "Applicants will be notified by mail, within another week or so." Was this a mass email or personal correspondence?

Was this a mass email or personal correspondence? Personal correspondence (mine). I guess that means wait-listed and rejection notices come in the mail, huh?

It would be so interesting to meet you guys in Madison. I feel regretful now for that I would not be attending the visit day of UW Madison!

JohnBom Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Who is thinking about accepting the offer? Ann Arbor is not my favorite town, but I had some very encouraging conversations with the faculty there. I am leaning towards taking it..
