clevernamehere Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I just got my grades from the past semester and have already turned in my apps. Do I need to send the schools midyear grade reports? I know a few of them asked for them specifically, so can I assume that the others don't need them?
SuddenlyParanoid Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 That is what I did. Since a lot of grad schools have deadlines at the start of December, they know very well most people aren't going to be able to show fall grades on their transcripts. Plus, the fact that some schools explicitly ask for them, implies that they're not sent out to all schools as a matter of course. If you're really worried about it, you could call the grad admissions office.
tskinner Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Just e-mail the departments you applied to with the grade report and include a PDF of your unofficial transcript. This is usually all they need, and all programs should just slip it into your application.
clevernamehere Posted January 10, 2010 Author Posted January 10, 2010 Thanks to both of you! I'll go back on the websites and see which schools ask for them specifically.
melusine Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Thanks to both of you! I'll go back on the websites and see which schools ask for them specifically. I did it for all of mine, regardless of whether they asked it or not. I mean, if you've got a couple extra As, it never hurts to try!

melusine Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 True! It's just another 30 dollars to my registrar... really? yikes! mine dishes them out for free...
anxiousapplicant Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Isn't it nauseating what some registrars charge? They charge 8 bucks per transcript at my school and then take over two weeks to send it out. Plus, if you have a balance in your tuition account, they won't send your transcripts at all. So for someone with financial dififculties this could be terrible. I almost didn't get to send my transcripts to any schools because of a balance we couldn't pay, but by some miracle I won a scholarship and it was taken care of. But to think that some people might not be able to apply to grad school because of stupid issues like this makes my blood boil.
clevernamehere Posted January 10, 2010 Author Posted January 10, 2010 really? yikes! mine dishes them out for free... My school is from the stone age. It's 3 dollars per transcript then $1 after the first ten.
