virtua Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Hey, guys, is it generally possible to defer admission offer with funding? If yes, for how long at maximum? How long at maximum it is possible to defer admission offer without funding? Or how many times?
TakeruK Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Depends on the school. If you need to do this, you have to talk to the specific school and the specific offer and make specific arrangements. Some schools may not allow you to defer funding. Some schools will be okay with only 1 year but others may let you take a couple of years. Generally, you are unlikely to be able to defer more than once.
England Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I had a similar question. So I hope you don't mind me barging in! I am applying to 8 schools, some in the UK, some in the US. If you are admitted to a school or schools in which you do not receive funding (or enough funding to attend at the present time) can you defer your acceptance until the following year? The schools that really line up with what I want to get my master's in are in the UK. As an international applicant coming from the US, I know that I most likely will not get as much funding as I would need. Should this situation prove to be true, my plan is to graduate with my BA and work for a year to save the money necessary to attend graduate school.

The only way to know is by contacting each specific institution and the relevant department.
