Aunuwyn Posted February 3, 2010 Author Posted February 3, 2010 I did not post an acceptance to TAMU, I have yet to hear back. Bobb-Cobb posted the acceptance.
Bobb Cobb Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I cannot imagine that it matters too much as long as we are respectful and thoughtful about what we post. Surely no program is concerned with grad students getting together to discuss their interests, successes, and failures. This is not like the job rumors board where things sometimes devolve into hateful discussions and personal attacks.
someone else Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I did not post an acceptance to TAMU, I have yet to hear back. Bobb-Cobb posted the acceptance. Forgive my moment of stupidity.
hulkkk Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Those who got rejected by the website, my status has changed at the website saying that admissions decision has been sent on 2/26/2010, but there is no link to view the decision. Does this mean rejection? Any clues?

Does this mean rejection? Any clues? I am not sure, but I would speculate that it means either rejection or waitilist. Mine says the following: The Admissions ProcessCurrent Status:Congratulations! You have been admitted to Texas A&M University. We will send your acceptance letter via postal mail.
someone else Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 My online status says that I was denied and I received a letter on Saturday. Since I live rather close to TAMU, I would think that others should receive their letters either today or tomorrow.
Aunuwyn Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 I have not yet! Perhaps im vying for a final slot?
someone else Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 To add insult to injury, I received a second letter today. I guess telling someone that they have been rejected once is not enough.

Just out of curiosity, how was the second letter phrased that made it sound rude? Just curious about how my undergrad treats applicants.
someone else Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Just out of curiosity, how was the second letter phrased that made it sound rude? Just curious about how my undergrad treats applicants. I do not think that it sounded rude, just a standard mass produced rejection letter. The post in the results section mimicking my above comment but adding the caveat that the letter sounded rude was posted by someone else.

"Was posted by someone else" is not referring to myself but that it was posted by another person.
jlloyd87 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) College Station sucks anyway. Edited March 4, 2010 by jlloyd87 mycatispsycho 1
fouler657 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I also got two letters. So I ended up getting rejected in three different ways: the website and two letters. The first letter was very nice. It was the usual...we have had quite a few applicants and only a small number of spots. The second one was kind of rude and definitely unnecessary. It just came out and said that I got rejected because I wasn't competitive. The first time stung a little, the second one was confusing, but the third was just amusing. They should probably come up with a more efficient system.
Bobb Cobb Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 College Station sucks anyway. Makes one wonder why you bothered to apply then. I also got two letters. jlloyd87 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Makes one wonder why you bothered to apply then. I would just like everyone to know that I was not the one that said "College Station sucks anyways"... Somebody got on my account and decided to have some fun.

jlloyd87 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Wow, that is scary. How do you think that happened? I stay logged in on my home computer and normally nobody gets on this site. Now I know better.
