speechfan222 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I have taken a couple of online courses before, but they were from universities in my home state. I was just thinking about course delivery and am wondering about time zone differences. I am currently on the west coast and applied to a few universities in the midwest and on the east coast. Would I assume (I will eventually find out for sure) that assignment due dates and tests/quizzes would be due within the time zone of the university? I wouldn't think the time difference would make an exception? So I would probably have to adjust the time of the due dates and make it two to three hours earlier (to match my time zone). Just a random thought. Let me know what everyone thinks!
ctg7w6 Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 From my experience, due dates can differ... A lot of times it is up to the professor. Sometimes it is your time zone, sometimes it is based on the school's time zone. Don't forget that many times the professor is in a different time zone from the school as well. I'd say that 90% of the time it was your time zone (every student was in the US, so that probably helped), 10% based on school's time zone. This was my experience at one school, so it may very well differ elsewhere.
