Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience or know anything about using Interfolio for letters of recommendation to psych doctoral programs? One of my letter writers has run into some unforeseen circumstances this semester and has very limited ability to work on these letters. I thought using a service like the Interfolio dossier would help eliminate some of the work. I know that about half of the schools I'd like to apply to will accept letters through Interfolio (I called each one). My concern is that the letter will be submitted without difficulty, but that there are additional questions or forms that will have to be filled out for each school, which would make the entire process take about the same amount of time. My goal would be to reduce the total number of submissions he has to make.

Thanks!

I only used Interfolio for Temple's program because they process the entire application that way. Not sure how you use it for the other programs if they're not requesting the website?

It's probably easier to skip Interfolio exactly for the reasons you mentioned. If they have to go to the school form already, it's additional work to use Interfolio.

Did you work with anyone else alongside the referee that is currently busy? For one of my letters, I had the Postdoc write it alongside the actual person I asked so that it was a joint effort and they could describe my experience and involvement in the lab much more clearly. If this is a viable option, it can help to avoid using external resources to supplement your letter.
