Hi everyone. Since today is the Early Action deadline and I haven't seen a thread for those of us who are applying to SIPA, I thought it would be good to start one here.

Anyone else apply Early or looking to apply for one of the later deadlines?

Unlike the MIA program, those who apply on or before the early action deadline are guaranteed a decision by Dec. 1. Big sigh of relief for me and since Columbia is my first choice, I will not be applying to other programs.

Good luck for those who are still waiting!

So you received a decision 1 week before Dec. 1. I hope decisions for MIA/MPA Early Action comes out before Christmas too!

I just saw on this forum that you have applied for SIPA's MPA program. Could you give some guidance/feedback about the video essay question and the type of policy prompts to expect? Seems like its a new addition and there isn't much information online. I am planning to apply for MIA before the fellowship consideration deadline.

Any tips/feedback would be much appreciated.

Hi @tmend sorry I just saw your note. The video essay question was so nerve racking. I did so much research into my policy area and prepared multiple answers... and it ended up being pretty simple. I don't want to get in trouble for giving away prompts but what they said on their blog about what to expect is pretty much spot on. Just don't overthink it too much. Hope this helps.

SIPA sent out Early Action notifications today! Good luck to everyone! I got my acceptance to the SIPA MPA program! Yay for me. Still waiting for a few more but so glad I did Early Action so I can at least have one acceptance in my pocket while I wait for others.

Yes, eventually. I requested for an increase in my fellowship award, so I am still waiting for their decision on that. But whether or not they say yes, I will be accepting.

Judging from SIPA admission topics from previous years, we can't know for sure. Even when the admission blog mentions a particular date and hour, it doesn't mean that you will receive your decision accordingly, since they do it on a rolling basis. Let's just hope for the best!

I got in today! Thank God!!Super excited it's definitely a miracle! Congrats to everyone else who got in! ? Anyone a part of the MIA program? Are there any official sipa groups in like Facebook or something?
