GoPackGo89 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 (edited) I was hoping to get input on which course would be the best use of my time whether in terms of preparation for stats/biostats PhD, looking favorable to adcoms, or both. 1) Functional Analysis- Normed vector spaces, Banach and Hilbert spaces, linear functionals and operators, the Hahn-Banach, closed graph and uniform boundedness theorems with applications, dual spaces, self adjoint operators, compact operators 2) Multivariate Data Analysis (graduate course) - PCA, Factor analysis, SEM, cluster analysis, canonical correlation analysis, ect. 3) Measure Theory Thanks in advance for your time and recommendation! abstract_art Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 In order of usefulness it'd probably be Measure Theory, then Functional Analysis, then Multivariate Data Analysis.
