Fishys Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 @meggied A professor from Vanderbilt called me yesterday to discuss my interest in a specific TA position. He said that no decisions have been made yet, but they should start sending out decisions possibly starting next week (no exact date though). I have a pretty strong connection to Vanderbilt because I did an REU there, so that might be why I was contacted early (though it's not a guarantee, the professor was just gauging my interest). I wouldn't get to worked up if you don't see any results posted in the next week or two because they might delay it further. meggied and Bhu_It 1 1

I just kept getting those emails saying they were still in the process of reviewing applications and that decisions would come out soon and thought it was strange that they hadn't come out yet.

shur42 Posted February 17, 2017 Author Posted February 17, 2017 Whoever got an admit from USC, have you interviewed with them? Invited to UCR Materials open house on March 10. No word on admittance/funding just yet.
shur42 Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 Any news? Anyone still waiting for a decision from schools? The only one I am waiting on is USC, their graduate admissions department misplaced my transcripts, so I am not even sure they've reviewed my application at all. @RanaYekani have you heard back from USC?
WhyTry Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Waiting on ut Austin, but looking at their published statistics, shouldn't have even applied! Im not mad though, I never believed in myself anyways
Dexter91 Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Hello, I got informal consideration/acceptance from POI of UT Austin. He has not interviewed me yet. What does this mean? Applied for Phd in ME..
WhyTry Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 @Dexter91 if professor bestowed an informal acceptance upon you, it means you are accepted
meggied Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Any news from CU Boulder? Seems like no notifications have been sent out but it's pretty late in the season.
rajainrush Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Got into UCLA and UCSD. Waiting for Georgia tech. They have brought in a change in admission this year and it surely pisses off everyone. I Think I can 1
I Think I can Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Do grad schools do orientation/ admitted student events? Also if you're admitted and want to visit before accepting or to visit and haven't visited before, do they help out with the cost of travel a bit (gas, plane ticket etc)? Thanks!
