Afternoonprogram Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Hi -I'm a "career-change" applicant. I got my BA 20 years ago 3.5 GPA, MS from 2001 4.0 GPA. Just took 4 post-bacc classes in CSD got all A's. GRE's are 150 Quant. 157 Verbal, 4.5 Writing. I'm looking for recommendations for on-line Master's programs. I have some related speech experience -mostly from having a special needs child. My son's SLP has been very encouraging. Suggestions? I'm applying to the few programs in my area but if I don't get in I would like more options but can't move.
ImHis Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 I think you have a good shot at East Carolina University's online program. The director said they look at the Masters coursework applicants have done to balance an average bachelors GPA. One of My classmates had comparable scores as yours and she was accepted and finished last year. Contact the program director and discuss your profile. She is very nice.
Afternoonprogram Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 Thank you ImHis -I think I might apply -I wish the out-of-state tuition was cheaper.
ElKel87 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 NYU has a new online program. They have spring, summer and fall starts and I've seen people with much lower stats than yours get accepted. It's a little pricey though, in my opinion. Here's a link to their program. Good luck! https://speech.steinhardt.nyu.edu/
slporbust2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I'm in UWEC's online program. I really like it so far, it fit my needs, and the online tuition is the same whether you're in state or not. Daniel998 1
