ugggggh Posted January 9, 2017 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Hello! I'm wondering if anyone has insight into the foreign language requirements of Education PhDs. My friend applied to 5 this year and all required foreign languages, but I couldn't find any mention of them for the eight to which I applied. I'm wondering if they're generally more or less common than in other fields? (I'm also just obsessing over details as I wait for notifications...) The only mention I saw was regarding a PhD in comparative education, but even then the school in question said that many students do speak more than one language but that it was only really a necessity to speak the languages in the regions you wanted to look at.
