seung Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Wondering if you guys would advise someone to contact their POI about admissions decisions before the decision has been officially sent out. If so, how would you go about asking?
fuzzylogician Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 If you need to know (e.g. you have another offer and time pressure to make a decision), you could reach out and explain the situation. In general, I think it's best to wait. If you really feel like you need to know, I think a better question would be "when can I expect to hear", or "what is the adcom's timeline for making decisions". Before you do that, though, I would recommend searching through the Results tab to see when your schools sent out notifications in previous years, to give you an idea of when you might expect a decision (though of course there is no guarantee that they'll stick to the same timeline). redikulus Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 One of my professors offered to sneak in a request for me, since they know people there, and I was like "naaahhh, um, nah, mmmmm, no, that's okay" I mean it might make me look funny. What if they don't like my professor.
