I'm trying to make my decision for this fall, and right now I'm learning toward Johns Hopkins. So I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the program before committing. Obviously I've made my own inquiries of current and past graduate students, but I'd love to know if anyone on this forum could weigh in on some of the strengths and weaknesses of the program. I've heard it's a smaller program with a particular strength in American Colonial history (not my concentration, but I'm excited about my potential POI's). Just fishing for any useful input!

What do you mean by 'strengths and weaknesses'? Like, specific subfields or structural features of the department?
