laserfloyd80 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Hello! I have been accepted into 2 of my dream schools. I have been thinking about withdrawing my applications from the safety schools I have applied to. Today I received an email from a faculty member at one of the safety schools inviting me for a Skype interview. What should I do? How can I politely decline this invitation?
The Shade King Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Great situation to be in. You could actually go through the skype interview without any pressure and use it as a way to network. But if you really would rather not, then you can let the faculty member know how much you appreciate the invitation but you have been admitted to a program that you feel is a better intellectual fit for you and you wanted to let them know so that perhaps this could open up an opportunity for another scholar to get an interview. Hope this helps. Good luck. onur_anthr, laserfloyd80 and rising_star 3

Firstly, the faculty member's research area is not my primary area of interest. Secondly, I would have to read up about the program a bit again which is a pain.
