zhichaolitju Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Hi, Guys Please help me review this issue. Any feedback is more than welcome. Thanks Young people should be encouraged to pursue long-term, realistic goals rather than seek immediate fame and recognition. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. Long-term goal, though provide overall roadmap and instruction, most often will be confront with certain issues like how to setup the ultimate goal and what is the step required to achieve them. Short term fame and recognition, however, is more easy to grasp and since mostly people consider candidates’ qualification based on their previous achievements, higher recognition will benefit us with more approval and thus more opportunities. So young people--not saying wrong to maintain long-term goal if they know for sure what it is—needs to focus more on immediate fame and recognition. Immature and inexperienced, it is often overwhelming for young people to realize their goals and thus hard to setup comprehensive and applicable plan. On the other hand, seeking fame and recognition, even though sounds mundane, is clear in terms what need to be accomplished. During their path of achieving fame and recognition, they may potentially reshape their goals and detail plans. Also, people’s qualification being judged based on their past performance. Achieving fame and recognition, will leads to higher evaluations, and larger changes of success. For example, more than required number of students apply same grad school, and only those who have solid testing and researching background will be considered. Thus what we achieved before entering grad school, the academic recognition, is the determent factor for the success. As young people, it is not easy, and most of time not even realistic, to have a clear understanding of our life’s purpose, thus “long-term goal” may change based on our understanding of our strengthen and what society needs. With that much uncertainties, immediate fame and recognition, is a better way to start.
