sweetnlow Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 For those of you who applied and were admitted to GWU's MPP program, how many years of work experience do you have? And in what sectors (public, private, etc.)?

And in what sectors (public, private, etc.)? I have six years in the private sector (finance). I am also an alumnus (B.B.A., 2003) FWIW.
wigi25 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I have six years in the private sector (finance). I am also an alumnus (B.B.A., 2003) FWIW. I have 3+ years in the public sector (government/legal).
mppgal55 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 For those of you who applied and were admitted to GWU's MPP program, how many years of work experience do you have? And in what sectors (public, private, etc.)? I was admitted a few weeks ago. I'm graduating in May with my BA, so I have zero work experience. I do, however, have 6 relevant (government/law) internship experiences, including a semester interning in DC.
tammy-san Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I got my acceptance today and I was in the Peace Corps for 2 years, and am working for a non-profit right now.
policyaz Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I was accepted a couple of weeks ago and I graduated last August. I've had a couple of good internships, but my work experience since graduation hasn't really been relevant to Public Policy.
stilesg57 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I got in last year with 2.5 years. No financial aid.
oxana Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I had no full-time work experience. 1 year of internships/coops, 1-2 years of part-time research and academic oriented jobs. All of which were not related to government, law, or public policy.
