deutsch1997bw Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Hello, everyone. What is MSU's general reputation in the political science community? It is a top 30 program, and it has placed its PhD students really well in recent years. I'm looking specifically for comparative politics info, but would like a sense of the program's reputation broadly.
nooxhc Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 bad, you don't see placements from there, plus a shitty town to live. american2020 1
deutsch1997bw Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 Have you looked at their recent placement record, though? Their students seem to be landing pretty good positions, including some at research universities.
dagnabbit Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Out of curiosity, where are you seeing the placement record? They don't appear to have it available on their website, which is typically not a great sign.
saudiwin Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Michigan is an excellent school, although their specialization is in quantitative work, especially survey research.
