RiskyNT Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Title pretty much says it all. Any geography.
Deep Fried Angst Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 1. AAR/SBL website (membership required). 2. HigherEd Jobs (https://www.higheredjobs.com/) 3. Smaller accrediting/conference websites (CCCU, etc.) xypathos 1
xypathos Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I'll also add http://academicjobs.wikia.com/wiki/Religious_Studies_2017-2018. There's a dedicated, though incredibly small, collection of editors that oversee the postings but they pull them from multiple sources then repost them so user can avoid AAR/SBL's paywall, and having to navigate multiple sites. Listings are broken down by full-time, post-doc, etc. There's also opportunities for those interviewing for a certain position to upload notes, questions asked if they're interviewed, etc. Self-reporting but at the bottom there's a place for applicants to list their field so you can size up competition. The 2017-8 hiring cycle is just getting started so there's minimal information but you can look at last year's to get an idea and it's as you'd expect - Americanists, Biblical Studies, and religious history make up a sizable amount. I think the last two years ~40 people uploaded data so the user base is small so keep that in mind too!
Rabbit Run Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 You can find some on the CCCU (Council of Christian Colleges and Universities) website. Only a small segment of the market to be sure, but I've seen some jobs show up here and not some of the above mentioned places before. http://careers.cccu.org/jobs/
marXian Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 You need a combination of everything listed above. The wiki is, I think, the most comprehensive, but it doesn't always update as quickly as the other sites since its self-reported as xypathos points out. I like the Chronicle's database for ease of use and narrowing down the results to see exactly what I'm looking for. https://chroniclevitae.com/job_search/new If you're willing to search for community college jobs, many CC districts/regions have their own databases. In California, for instance, there's the CCC Registry: https://www.cccregistry.org/jobs/index.aspx Not sure if other states have something similar, but I'm sure it'd be easy to figure it out.
