rosiereal Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Hello! I'm a first timer on here, but I recently got word that I've been accepted for an interview for a History and Sociology of Science PhD program. What should I expect? What should I be looking out for? Also, do women wear suits or just dress nicely? It's a day long event. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
qeta Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 (edited) Congrats, @rosiereal! I know an ABD in the HSS department, and she has only nice things to say about it. I don't have an answer to your questions that is based on experience. There are however tons of thread on the topic from previous years. I would do a search on the entire forum, including the Sociology subforum. In his book on grad applications, Asher says to dress nicely and comfortably, which sounds like business casual to me.
