ahfl11 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Hi all, Are there any good, paid museum internships over the summer? I'm a second year PhD student, looking for something to fill that pay gap over the summer when fellowship goes on pause, and also to build my resume for my desired career as a curator. Aside from the National Gallery, I don't actually know of any paid summer internship programs and would love some intel if any of you out there have ideas. Many thanks!!
modmuse Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 What’s your specialty? There are quite a few options for modern/contemporary in NYC, though if you don’t live in NYC already, the cost of moving here for the summer will certainly eat up most of what they pay.
ahfl11 Posted January 5, 2018 Author Posted January 5, 2018 I'm a modernist...certainly a good point, though I do have family in NYC I can stay with for close to free.
roving99 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Crystal Bridges in Bentonville, AR offers housing and a stipend for summer internships.
m-artman Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 I did the Crystal Bridges program this past summer. It was amazing. It'd be hard to do without a car though. Arkansas isn't the most drive-able place.

ahfl11 Posted January 10, 2018 Author Posted January 10, 2018 Thank you! Do they generally take PhD students?
