  1. Kind of weird that two brand new accounts posted for the first time within 20 minutes of themselves to defend this ACE place. And neither have posted anything since.
  2. Miserable, depressed, lonely, unmotivated. 8 hours away from my friends and my family. Behind on readings. Behind on assignments. Yay. I hear that.
  3. I'm 3/3 for EdD/PhD higher ed programs at GWU, UMCP, and William and Mary. Here's my problem: instead of having a mindset of "I got this because I'm awesome," I wonder if it's because they didn't have any other better candidates or if they felt bad for me or they just needed to get a butt in the seat. Clearly these reasons probably aren't true. And I probably was admitted because my research interests aligned very well with 1 or 2 of the faculty members. But in spite of that, I still think "they just didn't have anyone better." Anyone else have this kind of a defeatist, impostor syndrome kind of attitude? I can be proud of others but I can't be proud of me.
  4. Ed.D. Higher Ed GPA: 4.0 (M.Ed HESA) MAT: 427 (86th%), didn't take GRE Background: Policy development at OVAE and OUS at the U.S. Department of Education Applied: William and Mary, UMCP, GWU Accepted: All Going: GWU
  5. Hey all, first time posting here. I'm 27 and I'll be starting my Ed.D. in Higher Ed Admin at GWU this fall. Interviewed on 3/5, accepted 3/6, received $16k merit scholarship 3/11. Very, very, very, very, veryyyy happyyyyyy!!! Also applied to William and Mary & University of Maryland College Park. GWU was my first choice and I'm very happy about the funding, so I don't care about the other two. B.A. GPA = 3.4 M.Ed. GPA = 4.0 MAT Score = 87th% Internships at U.S. Department of Ed, presented at a national conference, working in the field since 2004, strong LoRs, etc. etc.
