  1. Accepted the offer from U of A so there will be a spot opening at Western!
  2. Heard from Vicki at U of A later this afternoon. I was accepted off of the waitlist! Now to decide between Western and U of A... I will be declining my offer from Dalhousie in the next couple of days, so that should make for some good news for someone on the Dalhousie waitlist!
  3. I have heard really good things about the program at U of A and it is way closer to home for me, which makes the cost of relocating a lot more affordable. I would be really excited to move across the country and experience living farther east if I do end up at Western. And I have also heard great things about their program as well. I would be curious to know if it is still true that they often have difficulty finding placements for people... Anyone know? I also find it very frustrating that U of A won't give people an idea of where they are on the waitlist... It makes it feel as if there are still so many unknowns for me at this point.
  4. Accepted to Western!! Very excited, but still hoping that I might be able to take a spot at U of A!
  5. This is actually my third time applying to U of A... I was hoping that perseverance would pay off. The first year I was quite sure I wouldn't be accepted. Last year I spent a lot of time volunteering with an SLP and boosting my application, but I still wasn't accepted. This year I boosted my prerequisite GPA by a lot and was hoping that might help. In the past two years I only applied to U of A because I only had prerequisites for that program. But this year I also applied to Dalhousie and Western (And I am happy that I was accepted to Dal, but U of A is a lot closer to home and would be my top choice). I did my volunteering through the health region. Feel free to private message me if you want more info about that! I don't have any research experience, but I haven't spent a lot of time seeking that out... I am really tempted to email them and ask for an update... Anyone know if all of the acceptances have been sent out?
  6. I have not received anything from U of A as of yet... Feeling a bit disappointed. Does U of A usually send out all of their acceptances at one time?
  7. I remember reading a lengthy document online in previous years that was a compilation of information about all of the SLP schools in Canada.I believe it was released by SAC-OAC. I tried looking back in previous forums to find the link, but I was unsuccessful. Anyone know where to find it?
  8. Received an email of acceptance from Dalhousie!!
  9. I saw someone who posted on the results search page saying that U of A was sending out letters in the mail for wait listed people.. But they said they started sending them last week. It also said that rejected people would receive a letter by April 15th. So I'm guessing if I don't receive something in the mail by today or tomorrow that I have no chance...
  10. Thank you for the information on U of A! I appreciate that a lot.
  11. Anybody know if U of A is still sending out acceptances? Has anyone heard about the wait list? I'm starting to feel a bit hopeless..
  12. Just contacted U of A. The secretary said that they are just starting to contact people now, but that it is a long process, because they have to wait on people to let them know if they are accepting their spot at U of A. Also, she said people probably wouldn't know if they were for sure rejected for another couple of months! She said if you haven't heard anything yet to hang tight and not be too worried. I asked how many people applied this year and she said just over 230...
  13. I don't know if it was an email or phone call. Makes me super anxious too..
