  1. So what does it mean when a waitlist is unranked? That is my question. I'm on a waitlist for a school that says it has an "unranked" waitlist, and I could not get a clear answer from the graduate coordinator how they then would decide which candidates to take.
  2. Just found out I am on the waitlist for Western by email. What does it mean that their waitlist isn't ranked? Is their selection off the waitlist randomized then? That seems kind of hard to believe. Anyone else waitlisted today for them as well?
  3. Thanks mandypo333! Glad I'm not the only one waiting Where on the portal are you seeing that? Under my "application status" section it just still says "ready for review"...
  4. Anyone with any info about acceptances, waitlist, rejections for WWU's admission process this year would be greatly appreciated! Only two people seem to have posted on the admit forum, so I'm wondering if they've gotten back to everyone yet or not, even though they say on the website that admission letters went out yesterday and today... Thanks!
  5. Congrats y'all on your acceptances! Which UW SLP program did you get into? I'm from the Seattle area, and the cost of living in Seattle is pretty astronomical, if that is a part of your consideration. Like just for rent for a one bedroom apartment, your rent is going to be upwards of $1500/month, not including utilities, water/sewage/garbage, etc. The traffic is also terrible in this area and getting worse in this area to be honest, and the bus system is not reliable AT ALL. Also the department is pretty much on university ave, which is a notorious drug/homeless breeding ground... :/ I would stay in Cali where it's nice and warm! And no out-of-state tuition costs, especially if you got funding, that's amazing!! Good luck with your decisions!
  6. Nice! I should have noted on there which UW program I applied to--I went for CoreSLP because of my interest/experience in working in non-medical settings and more with pediatrics as well. What made you opt for MedSLP out of curiosity? Congrats on U of Oregon too! Are you going to accept them you think, or will you wait to find out about the other schools? Also, where did you do your undergrad education?
  7. Hello all, I hope everyone is hanging in there while waiting to hear back their programs! It seems like most applicants here have applied to more midwest and east coast schools, so I thought I would ask here if anyone else applied to Washington state schools as I have (so we can commiserate and/or hopefully celebrate!) There just might not be too many people on here who have applied to my schools, but I thought I'd give it a try in case they want to connect! Best wishes, otterbaslp
  8. Does anyone know which grad school programs are best if you have an interest in voice therapy (i.e. curriculum including strong voice components, renowned voice researchers/clinicians as faculty, strong local voice community around the school, etc.)? I would appreciate input from current grad students, clinicians, or undergrads who have done some research into this matter. Thanks so much!
