So... I was just obsessing on the SSHRC website and checking last year's doctoral statistics (again) and I noticed that the statistics are already posted for this year's Master's competition (http://www.sshrc.ca/site/winning-recher ... s_2009.xls). I don't really know what this means, except that SSHRC is definitely sitting on the Master's results. There is nothing in the statistics to tell you how many people got scholarships (sorry), so this is actually pretty unhelpful information other than letting us know that something is moving.

You're lucky. Sometimes having a partner in academia only makes it worse. This time last year we were anxiously awaiting scholarship results for him. Our faculty of grad studies waits for SSHRC results before announcing their internal competition results (he's an international student and ineligible for SSHRC), so SSHRC results became ridiculously important in our lives (considering neither of us had applied). This year, we are waiting anxiously for my results and he keeps making fun of me for my haunting of different SSHRC forums and threads. When I tell him that he would have done the same thing last year if there were any forums on the internal scholarship, he reminds me that stalking SSHRC info would have amounted to the same thing... and he didn't bother with that. So, just because I am just slightly more obsessed in a similar situation, he feels that he has the right to feel morally superior. Boo. On another note, I am wondering how long everyone here has been waiting since being informed that they were A-listed. Because I am obsessed, I checked my inbox and realized that I have been waiting on these results since January 13th. No wonder I am going crazy.

OGS results are out! I know it's not SSHRC, but it's something...

I spoke to the graduate programme administrator in my department earlier this week and she said that I will definitely hear back before she does. Apparently, if your faculty of graduate studies gets the results first, they pass it on to you immediately and to your department a bit later on. Also, according to graduate studies (and they got this from SSHRC), the results should be out by mid-April (at the earliest, I gather). I'm guessing that the letters are sent out at the same time that graduate studies is notified. Only a bit more waiting to get through...
