  1. Doubt you can cancel the process. I don't think there is too much of a difference if you would've not sent the first score. If 328 meets the requirements you should be good
  2. Well, if you selected to send the results to the universities for free right after the test, both times - then yes, I think they will get both results. You can also opt not to send both results and then later select which scores you i wish to send at home. If you improved significantly then that's a good thing and if they get both scores this should be good.
  3. Just wondering: since there is an any select option, is it frowned upon to submit only one complete test result if I have taken the gre 3 times?
  4. You take the test, then wait for all the results (takes a while). Then you can pick which ones you want to send to the university.
  5. Take: thanks for the excellent answer. The trick in my initial question is that the 2 is being used twice and thus the answer must be "is not necessarily true. I am coming to the conclusion that looking at prime factors is an excellent way (and fast, easy) to check for divisibility. I actually haven't taken the gre yet so I can't say if this is the ideal method on test day. Opinions?
  6. Thanks I understand it must not be true but I was looking for an answer that refers to the prime factorials. That's the methodology I am working on for these kind of problems right now and it's important for me to us this method properly/
  7. "If y is divisible by 12 and 10, is y divisible by 24?" Now, I could solve this through plugging in but investigating the prime factors is easier: 12: 2, 2, 3 10: 2, 5 24: 2, 2, 2, 3 The answer is: NO. However, I don't get why not given the fact that 10 and 12 have the neeccessary prime factors (2, 2, 2, 3). Please help me understand. :-)
  8. I can attest to Manhatten, they teach you great methodology. They have some very intense questions especially in the "Hard" section, which they state is harder than the GRE. So far I am happy with them but I'll probably also get Baron once I am done. This should help me not to "overthink" things on test day. I also have Magoosh, btw. I decided halfway through Magoosh to get Manhatten and do that first. While Magoosh is good and their videos are useful, they are also very hard and a lot of the questions are harder than the GRE (similar to Manhatten). However, the video lessons are great but often short. You have to remember that you still have to do the work and learn all the foundations.
  9. Other than powerprep, which practice tests did you take?
  10. Hey, I have a visual disability (I can only see out one eye, the other one is completely blocked). Now, I have only had this since about 2 years and am not fully adjusted by any means. I make a lot of "reading" errors like writing down the wrong number or symbol. It also makes it a lot harder for me to study, besides limiting my visual field. I am a determined preson and have a good undergrad gpa (3.4). I am not set on going through with requesting extra time. I am most worried about an indication that I took the test with extra time or extra accommodation to the universities I apply to. Check out this section from ETS: In most cases, score reports contain no indication of whether a test was taken with accommodations. In rare instances, when an accommodation significantly alters what is tested (for example, if an entire test section must be omitted), a statement may be included with the score report indicating that the test was taken with accommodations. Score reports do not indicate the nature of the disability or the accommodations given. Score recipients also are reminded that test scores should be considered only one part of an applicant’s record. I am also planning on taking the GRE 3-4 times and then using the best score with the Select Any option. Any recommendations? Thanks!
  11. I'm a bit embarrassed but I found this question in Manhatten and it looked odd to me: -5^2 = ? Answer is: -25 I thought it would be 25 because but I guess (-5)^2 = 25 does not equal -5^2???
  12. Which PR book in particular do you recommend?
  13. Clearly, Algebra is high school and not elementary. Polynomials are usually not included in the GED though they might. They are on the GRE. I am also a foreigner so I know that solving 3 Equations with 3 Unknowns is not elementary school math. Anyway, I'm just trying to narrow it down. I am studying about 2-4 hours every day. Good luck to you too.
  14. Thanks guys, I have Manhatten coming in the Mail (8 Book Series) and am currently using Magoosh. However, both of these materials focus on high-scoring through brutal methodology. I'm going to have to focus on tricks soon as this might be more helpful and faster in the end. I will also try to do as much practice as possible. Anyway, thanks! PS: One more question: How about 3 equations with 3 unknowns? Did any of these ever pop up?
  15. I guess this is for more advanced quatratic equations. Do I need to add this to my "must remember" list? Also, if anyone has a list of algebra formula's and/or GREMath formulas in general that one should know let me know :-). (I understand that for geometry, for example, this is important and less important for problems where u can plug in.)
  16. Hey, So I just read on the ETS website about the any select option for test result submission. I'd just like to confirm that I can send any test to the school I apply to without them seeing how many GRE's I took before and how I did? This seems a little strange to me, I could be taking 1 test per month the next half year and then just send in my best score? Surely this can't be true? Thanks everyone!
  17. Could anyone recommend some audiobooks? I'm in my car a lot driving to my job, school, etc. I think learning verbal strategies and building vocabulary while driving would be a good thing! Thanks
  18. Hey all, I'm looking for some more materials and am tight on money. I have ETS offical book and Magoosh (online). Down the road I want to do Manhattan (8 Book Series) and also Baron's. If I still have time I could do Nova. Needless to say, I would really appreciate if anyone has some of these just sitting around (or other recommended materials). I would pay shipping of course and I could pay you too if you would prefer (via ebay or paypal). I also have some DVD's I could trade in . Send me a PM if you are charitable like that :-). Also, once I am done I can sell them for you on ebay / Amazon and pay you this amount.
  19. Relax, the GRE will not decide about the fate of your life. You can always retake it and you have been studying a good amount, more than probably most do. While some people study 3 months in advance, many only cram for a couple of weeks. You will be fine, and otherwise you can repeat. Also, unless you are applying for extremely competitive schools I really wouldn't worry too much. Keep studying hard tho.
  20. Hey y'all, I'm brushing up my math with Magoosh right now, and they have a very methodological approach and their problems are very hard (I think a lot of them fit better with the GMAT). Anyway, I am bad at math but slowly progressing. While this is exciting I am relying a lot on formulas that I am memorizing. These formulas are becoming somewhat of second nature but are sometimes lengthy to use. Am I going the wrong direction here? Just wondering because I read that using the formula approach takes too long.
  21. My wife is in medical school and I really recommend staying and sticking it out. You can always change your career paths but you're probably experiencing some burnout. MD is the strongest degree in the US, you're not going to ever finish it unless you do it now! You can always change your career later. Good luck!
  22. I am trying to get into UPenn for their MCIT program. What do you mean with terminal professional, terminal degree? I am not chasing a career in academia, if that's what you mean. Please explain. Thanks! PS: Advice concerning certificates would also be helpful.
  23. Hey, Just wondering if you have any recommendations for GRE APPS? I'm looking primarily for Math but also Verbal Apps. Thanks!
  24. I'm wondering what certificates I could get to beef up my application, especially for people that are switching backgrounds! I'd be willing to study and invest about $2000 to strengthen my application. Thanks. The programs I am looking at are MS in IT, possibly Cybersecurity,
  25. So what's the current hot ticket? I have read about the increased need and demand for information security positions, and there are many programs like http://www.scs.gatech.edu/future/msinfosecdistance and https://www.sans.edu/interest/strong-future (candidate for accredation). Also, there are the old hot tickets like sys administration and goold old programmer/developer. So what's the current hot ticket and what can we do to position ourselves ideally for the future in IT?
