Hi folks! Current UK fulbrighter here, just thought I'd pop in to see how it's all going for you. I got my email from IIE on the 18th last year, around 6:30pm CST.

Well I am actually a UK scholar for the 13-14 year, so I'm speaking to what I know You can use part of your grant money to reimburse yourself, so to speak, but you'll have to pay for your own ticket to get there- you don't receive your money before you're actually in London.

My UK Fulbright is specifically to pursue an M.A- as is the case with all the UK Partnership Awards.

Just an FYI for anyone reading- the UK does not reimburse Fulbrighters for their tickets!

I think Wednesday or Friday at the earliest. I mean, they're about two weeks behind their schedule from last year.

I think it depends entirely on the individual school/grant- like mine would be tuition/fees all waived, plus 15k (10k like everyone else +5k for a thesis project).

Sooo looks like it's gonna be Monday at the earliest!

I mean, they told me about two weeks, so that's why I thought it'd be this week! As for why I think it's Friday- idk, Thursday seems like a pretty random day of the week compared to Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, and Friday is also the 15th, hence my thinking. If it is tomorrow though, I'll be over the moon!

Damn, another day of nothing! Guess my gut feeling was wrong. Good thing I'm not in the fortune telling business, haha! Guess we'll have to wait till Friday at least.

I've had a feeling it was going to be Wednesday from the start, I don't know why, but it just feels like that's the day!

So....tomorrow then?

Sorry, I meant my school as my school in the UK! Not the institution I applied through. I'm sure good news is coming for all of you as well!

omfgggggg I just got an email from the head of the department of my school and he wanted to know if I had heard back yet (I haven't) because he had and apparently it was good news and that he wanted to congratulate me! AAAAAH

No Fulbright email for me, but I did just get an email from one of the US grad programs I applied to! I've been offered a fellowship and an assistantship! So that's something at least!

They told me "you should hear from IIE in a couple weeks" at the end of my interview on the 25th and I know the last interviews were on the 28th, so maybe next week? Idk I don't know how I'm functioning right now, to be honest.

Haha I got that email last night, I am slowly going mad!

I'm in the same boat as you, Ruluo! No idea how I'm going to break the news to them if I get this. Although I can't say it's what I would call a dream job, lol.

loveyourheritage is from the UK, coming to the US- the reverse of us! We don't find out for a couple of weeks, haha
