a little update, accepted by CTS and School of Theology Boston University into STM, 50% tuition waive from CTS but no result for BU yet. But I have paid the deposit of Candler and accepted the scholarship~

Received a letter from Candler saying that they offered me a scholarship of $ 12,000. That is more than BC and Candler is the school I want to go, so...

It sound like I am accepted by Duke. But the thing is, I have not heard anything from them after turning in the material they want. I am from China. I currently have two MA in religious studies and theological studies and one BA in philosophy~ Trying to get a ThM then apply for PhD. still long way to go~

Though piggy banks does not sound pleasant , thanks anyway la!

Not at the moment la. They just asked for one endorsement letter several times. After all that was done, nothing~

Hi Cadences, Thanks for bring me all the information and cheering me up with hope~ I do want to go to Candler comparing to BC. Prof. Jacob Wright is the one that I am interested in. His doctoral thesis is quite related to what I want to do. But at the same time, I was thinking that Boston might be a better location with lots of resources gathered. Actually I am just pretty content with what I have received so far. The only problem might be money. As I have said, money pretty much decides where I will go in the end. But at the moment lacking of information kinda torments me. Hope God could help me with the problem!

Thanks a lot for the information. I just did not know that ThM is not funded!! Actually funding is quite important to me though. With more funding, it is easier for me to secure a student visa. And also, the cost is way a lot though. Therefore, money does change my decision. Frankly, I want to go to Atlanta because I am interested in studies of the Hebrew Bible and there is one professor there whose study I am quite interested in. Of course Boston College is a great school too. But now, funding will help me make decision I guess. I will just wait and see whether there is a school that would fund me more~

By the way, I also applied to BU, Duke and CTS, I am still hoping to receive any news with them.

Got accepted by BC and Candler to ThM at the moment, though It is pretty tough for me to make any decision right now. BC offers me a scholarship with 25% tuition. I have not received any information about what the financial aid for me with Candler. Now the thing is that I need to make decision before the 4th on whether to accept the admission from Candler or not maybe before knowing anything about the aid. I hope they could offer me some money at least, but here is what the director said: ThM scholarships are limited and competitive. My focus is biblical studies. Frankly I would prefer Candler if money is not a problem. Boston College certainly is a good school to go too because of the environment around it and the school itself. My goal is to continue and get my doctoral degree later. Therefore it is another thing I am thinking about. Now I just don't know what to do anymore. Does anyone have good idea or know anything about the scholarship in Candler? Or anything about the two schools. Thanks a lot!

I did tell them that I have two masters, but without the detail of number of credit hours and courses taken, what I did mention was the length of each master and graduation dissertation and research paper done in each one. The secretary then told me I need a M Div. I was thinking of asking one more time with more details provided though~ PS: Even though PTS said no, Emory said yes I could apply for ThM~

To which one an MTS is sufficient?
