  1. The way you put it, it makes me laugh, but is likely their approach. I'm sure there are going to be some irrationally angry people who will be looking to vent. This will give those folks the weekend to cool off.
  2. PhDDreams, any idea on the Ed.D timeline? Are there still calls to be made or were all accepted students notified today and yesterday?
  3. Congrats, JHampton. No call yet, so I'm hoping there's one round of calls for the Policy folks tomorrow. Either way, best of luck to you!
  4. Was Harvard a program to which you applied?
  5. This is historically notification week. Nothing has popped up in the results form yet, but there should be some movement in the next day or two. Best of luck to all those that apply. Here's to getting an email before Friday.
  6. I'm just busy. In addition to my teaching duties, I'm coordinating a series of clubs, sitting in on a course and doing some consulting work on the side. I'll check GradCafe once a day to see if there is any new information available, but I don't expect any news until the 22nd. Your post was a good reminder to get my W-2s and 1099s in so I'll have my return ready for the 4th.
  7. I'm not an alum, but I am pretty familiar with the program. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.
  8. You DEFINATELY need to submit the financial aid application in order to be fully funded. They fund all doctoral candidates, but you need to submit the form.
  9. I received an email from the program director where I earned my masters about serving on the search committee for a new faculty member. I served on an earlier search committee and included that experience in my first application. Is it worth it to reach out to admissions to let them know I have been asked to serve a second time? My application is over six weeks old and I've already added a research acceptance to my file. If it will help, that's one thing, but if its too menial I'd keep it to myself.
  10. I was actually curious about this as well. I had reached out to several POI who were very accessible in the middle of the fall semester, but recently it's been hit or miss. Is it common for some schools to have a policy or "rule of thumb" for POI's to avoid applicant contact until after admissions? A colleague of mine had mentioned this as the graduate school might now want the professor to give any indication of admission or rejection prior to official notification.
  11. Randi: Thanks for sharing your insight. I've read a couple of your other post as well and you've written about the importance of "fit" and "matching personalities." Did you get any insight as to how they determine these two criteria after weeding out the soft candidates? I'm curious as to the tipping point(s) of such a selective process.
