G Yup. When I called the dude a few weeks ago, he said that they might never be matched on the website because they're using a new system and having trouble with it.
This is unrelated to grad school, but I was so excited about this that I wanted to share with somebody. I am guessing any Americanist on this thread will find this at least somewhat intriguing - it's an infographic about the history of american political parties. http://xkcd.com/1127/large/
To quote a professor I spoke to at a well-respected program: "SOPs help us understand the applicant, but are nowhere near as important as applicants seem to think they are. *Students just obsess because that's the only part of the package they can really control when it's time to apply.*" I understand the anxiety, but an SOP which is a little different shouldn't destroy your chances. Trust yourself.
That moment when you’ve sent a professor TWELVE emails only to realize you’ve been spelling their name wrong the whole time… I'm gonna go jump out the window now.
I called them the other day for this same reason and it's just that they are using a new computer system and have not been able to upload scores into the system. If you've sent them, then they have most likely received them. Seriously, I started the phone conversation saying "It doesn't seem that my GRE scores have arrived..." and he said "Don't worry about it! If you sent them, there will be no problem whatsoever."
well i submitted unofficial ones to all of my schools (they specfied that web portal transcripts were fine). if you're worried, it can't hurt to follow up with schools?
I did four because of a really stupid thing that happened where a professor who I didn't ask for a rec assumed that she was writing one for me, and I felt awkward. hopefully this won't hurt me THAT much.
