  1. why PTS over YDS?!?! also, what do you see as your concentration?
  2. Hey Ashley, I think we applied to many of the same schools. If you wouldn't mind me asking, where did you get a the fully funded offer?
  3. I want to confirm that the GRE can make or break you. I have 2 offers, but I can say that IT MATTERS way more than you think. I wanted to shrug it off. Don't.
  4. PhD. My focus is complicated anddd.. I only feel the freedom to share so much on the inter webs. sorry
  5. got an official acceptance from BU w/ stipend. POI contacted me first, then got the official email...
  6. Ya'll (how southern of me) I applied to Emory's HB program and I haven't gotten a rejection yet either. So far I've only seen 1 person put that they were rejected on the results forum- it doesn't seem "widespread"... yet anyways. I don't know what to think of it. Anyone else hear anything from Emory? Anyone willing to say what sub discipline they were rejected from? JW. thanks. Also, realistically we will all know pretty soon as their invitation weekend is this weekend so the hatchet will come down probably sooner rather than later. That's not Isaac, that's my future
  7. I didn't see it on the results search, but I do know someone who was invited to interview weekend (in the graduate department of religion) on Feb 11-12. Anyone have any news on this? Is this for all the departments?
  8. Kuriakos: you put rejected from Emory in your profile, did you receive a rejection letter or are you just assuming rejection?
  9. Ok, but really, how soon to invites/interviews go out in general/across the board? Any idea? When was Duke's submission deadline? JW (I didn't apply to Duke... I wasn't even going to pretend lol)
  10. I just want to know what the "average" score for the GRE is right now, and what schools are looking for. Many schools say "it doesn't matter" but that if its a low score you won't be accepted. Ok, so then what is considered a low score for a school like Emory or PTS? They are so vague, its just unclear. Any thoughts would be helpful. You know I keep hearing that the old test was way easier than this new one (even the verbal was made harder)- so I'm not sure how a school is going to grade the new system, especially in comparison to the last test which put way more people in the top percentile than would be there in the new test. Thoughts?
