Wow. The wait is over... I just found out that I got into the Concurrent MSW/MPH program at Berkeley. Earlier this morning they had informed me that admissions notifications would go out next week and then an hour later I get an email from the admissions advisor with the news. They've given various dates over the past few weeks so who knows what kind of time frame they're working with. I hope everyone else finds out soon.

I just spoke with a woman named Rachel in the Admissions Office of the Berkeley School of Social Welfare. She was very kind and let me know that admissions decisions would be going out next week. She wasn't able to be any more specific but it's better than nothing. There don't seem to be too many people on this forum who've applied to the MSW program at Berkeley, but those of us who have should know by this time next week. Best of luck to everyone.

Hey Dida, thanks for the response. It occurred to me that the reason I was under the impression of an early March deadline had to do with an email I received from the SW Dept in early February. It was specific to the concurrent program and made reference to an early March notification. Perhaps that was just them being overly optimistic. I suppose it's not a big deal for me since it's the only program I applied to and I'll either get in or I won't. But I still can't help counting the days... Good luck to you. Perhaps we'll be classmates in the fall. My heart goes out to everyone who's weighing their options while waiting for the acceptance/denial letters to trickle in.

I was getting curious/antsy about the looming admissions notifications so I contacted the Social Welfare Dept at UC Berkeley. For some reason I had been under the impression that they notifications would go out on or around March 4th, but I was just told over the phone that the decisions won't go out until March 18th. Now I'm wondering why I thought March 4th meant something. I know it's only a few weeks difference but the days sure do seem long right now... Is there anyone else on this forum who applied to Berkeley and was similarly misinformed?

Hey everybody. Congrats to those who have already begun receiving admissions notifications. It must be a good feeling. I applied to the concurrent msw/mph program at Berkeley for fall 2013. A few days ago I received an email from the Social Welfare Dept informing me that my application advanced to the final review process for the program, so I guess I'm still in contention. Did anyone else get this email? I think there's a few folks on this forum who are currently in that program. Any pearls of wisdom you'd care to share about your experience so far would be much appreciated.
