I applied to UNC CH too, but I am considering it a rejection already too. I didn't realize just how competitive it actually was when I applied a few months ago. Even though it's not over till it's over, I still would prefer to think of it as a rejection so I don't get my hopes up. Btw, anyone here apply to Umass amherst? Their link says that they notify applicants via postal service, but stats from last year claim they heard via website..

One of the schools I am very interested in attending is UMass-Amherst. I was wondering if anyone here is from that area and has any opinions about it. How are the people? What's the atmosphere/town like?

I have 5 classes this semester and I'm working too. You'd think I wouldn't have time to think and obsess over hearing back from graduate schools, but I've managed to make that my top priority this semester lol. It's making time go by so slow.. ughh I guess I should get back to studying.

Yea that is very true. I seem to be in the pessimist phase of this whole process ha! I have days where I'm not that worried at all, and other days like today where I think no school will accept me. This seems to be normal from everyone I've been talking to. Anyway, I wish you the best too!

jmarti, sorry I didn't mean to freak you out! lol. It's just that I've researched them on edfind and they only accept 44 applicants, which is pretty low considering the high number of applications they receive

I'm in in-field student at UCF in my last semester. I applied to 7 schools in mid-December and have been pulling my hair out since lol. I don't know about everyone else, but this past January was the longest month ever! I'm hoping to hear back from a few schools by the end of February. My first choice school is UNC (which I now realize is unrealistic, so I won't be devastated or surprised if I don't get in), and my second choice is UMass.. Hopefully the next few weeks fly by b/c I'm more anxious than ever Applied: Univ. I am a ComDis major, minor in Psych, certificate in Leadership Studies. I have an overall GPA of a 3.77, and 3.8 GPA in the major. But like a lot of people mentioned, my GRE scores aren't the best.. Q148. V152, W4. I feel that I have a strong personal statement though, and I have over 100 hours of volunteering. But I feel like this is still such a long shot. I wish I could just shut my graduate school brain off for the time being so I can stop obsessing about it! Lol. Oh well.. Some of the schools I applied to are Eastern Michigan Univ, UMass-Amherst, Univ of Ctrl FL, Florida International Univ, Florida Atlantic Univ.. plus 2 others that I now realize I may as well have not applied to because my GRE is not good enough. That's okay though, I'm really hoping for Eastern Michigan and I think I just may have a chance. Anyone else apply to these schools?
