  1. Hi All; A mass email came today from OISE/SGS. I hope this helps anyone who's still waiting. Check your SPAM folder. Good luck. ---- By now, you should have received a letter of offer from University of Toronto’s School of Graduate Studies. We hope that you are taking our offer very seriously. Acceptance into Canada’s preeminent grad school is an achievement in itself. We chose you because you're at the top of our list. And we believe you applied to U of T because we're at the top of yours! Not only does the U of T Grad School offer world-renowned research and scholarship, it offers scope. At Canada’s largest university – in Canada’s largest city – anything is possible. Whatever your focus, academic or otherwise, you’ll find your niche at the University of Toronto. Our departments are welcoming and our connections vast, so you’ll experience big-city opportunities with a small-community feel. You need to see for yourself, of course. So check the Gallery which hosts 50 videos about life at UofT and hear from current students, faculty and staff members. You can also check the Grad School website to read what current U of T graduate students say about their programs across the university. If you’d like to talk further about all the possibilities for your success here, e-mail us. If you have not yet received your letter of offer, it should be arriving soon. When it arrives, please feel free to discuss any details with the program offering you admission. Good luck with your decision process. We hope to see you here soon!
  2. Hi, isn't SLE a department within CTL? For example I'm in CTSD which is part of CTL. I spoke to a prof in CTL and she said that about 20% of OISE's first round offers are turned down by PhD applicants. So I bet you have a good chance of getting in! You might just have to wait a few weeks before finding out. Best wishes.
  3. I've already accepted OISE's offer of admission. But this came today, so there may be hope for people on the waiting list. It seems like they're still reaching out to "applicants." Good luck. - Dear applicant, Thank you for your application to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree program in Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning (CTL) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). As you may know, we have been reviewing applications to our program. Official notification of results are in the process of being mailed. As an applicant, we wanted to invite you to the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Meet & Greet and Research Showcase that is scheduled for April 10th, 2013. Attend our Research Showcase and speak with faculty members and students about ongoing research in CTL. Afterwards, you’re invited to meet with our current students to discover more about the program. The Research Showcase is scheduled from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the OISE Library on the ground floor (252 Bloor Street West). This will be followed by a brief presentation before meeting with our students from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We would also encourage you to bring any questions that you might have about our program or department. If you are interested in attending this event, please RSVP to ctlrsvp@utoronto.caby Thursday, April 4th, 2013. We hope that you will be able to join us on April 10th, 2013 and we look forward to meeting you, Sincerely, CTL Graduate Studies p.s. This e-mail notice is specific to the Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development program only. If you have applied to the Knowledge Media Design Collaborative Program, you will need to submit a separate application directly to them (if you haven't done so already). Please visit their website: http://kmdi.utoronto.ca/graduate-study/requirments/
  4. Hi all; My "official letter" of acceptance into the PhD arrived in the mail today. It's dated March 15th on the letter and was posted on the 19th. I have 3 weeks to respond. I will accept OISE's offer. Good luck.
  5. If you are a current UofT student, check ROSI. I just did and it already has me listed to begin the PhD in September, with funding, although I still haven't received an official letter in the mail... Good luck!
  6. Hi Scholarlypartier; News should come by post in late March. I think they only call the PhD students... There are fewer funded MAs than PhDs at OISE. The admit pool is small: 3 or 4 this year in CSTD. But there are lots of MEd places (unfunded). Good luck!
  7. OISE's secretary just called to tell me I've been accepted into the PhD (CSTD) with full-funding! Official letter should arrive in late March/early April. Good luck everyone!
  8. Happy New Year. I know it's early but I thought I'd start a thread. Best of luck everyone.
